About us
We are an independent, parent-led forum for families of children and young people with SEND in Rivercrest.
Rivercrest Parent Carer Forum is run by parents and carers of children and young people aged 0–25 with special educational needs or disabilities. We are independent of the council, and free to join.
We do two things. We help families directly — information, peer support, workshops. And we carry families’ collective voice into the places decisions are made: the council’s SEND strategy, the Local Offer, health services, individual schools.
We are funded by the Department for Education’s parent-carer participation grant and a contract with the council. Being funded by the council does not mean we work for it — our job is often to disagree with it, on the record.
The people behind the forum
